Our Programs and Initiatives

Beyond traditional patrols, the City of Coatesville Police Department is deeply invested in programs that strengthen everyday life for our residents.These initiatives are not side projects—they are integrated into duty schedules and performance goals, giving every employee the chance to apply problem‑solving skills, build trust, and see the direct impact of their work long after a shift ends.

Many applicants ask how they can influence public well‑being beyond enforcement. Our programs are the answer. Officers and civilian staff rotate leadership roles, giving you practical project‑management experience while serving residents.

  • RideSafe Coatesville – No-Cost Car Seat Installations: Certified child-passenger technicians offer free seat checks and installations by appointment, and—through our PA T.I.P.P. partnership—provide no-cost seats to qualifying families to keep young riders safe.

  • Coffee With the Chief: The Police Chief visits local businesses for open, agenda-free conversations where residents can raise concerns, share ideas, and help shape community-focused policing.

  • Shop with a Cop: Each December officers escort nominated Coatesville youth to a festive Walmart shopping trip—complete with breakfast, lights-and-sirens parade, and gift-wrapping—turning holiday cheer into lasting, trust-building friendships.
